When people ask me what I do for a living, I tell them:  “I help individuals and families organize and manage their personal information”.

Is that about the most boring thing you ever heard?  Not for me.

What I really want to say is…

“I read lots of books – I mean study them, binge-watch sci-fi shows, create detailed – very, very detailed checklists and binders that make you want to own them…I am kind of nerdy like that.  Because, when I create checklists and binders for every area of one’s life, you can get them and save yourself a ton of time.”

I’m Jasmine Alexander – creating checklists and software is my thing.  I love playing with Word tables, experimenting with colored tables and creating software.

People come to me when they just experienced a life event – the birth of a child, becoming a caregiver, the death of a loved one, a marriage or divorce.  Already in emotional turmoil, they are relieved to find tools that help them manage through this event with clarity – not confusion and stress.  Often times they recommend the tools to their siblings, family members and friends to help them be prepared before an emergency occurs.

I have over 25 years of experience in building software, process maps and products.  I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies like Disney, Ziff Davis and Penton (now Informa) and startups of all sizes.  I have managed large teams and once or twice was the first one on the job!  I have a degree in Computer Science from New York University and a Master’s in Business Administration from UCLA.

I started jazmine.com, a software company in 2013 and recently started the publishing company.

When I not working on creating products or running the biz, I mentor – which usually means providing advice and sometimes talking someone off a career ledge.

Curious to know more?

  1. I am a Pescatarian. I was a vegetarian for most of life and started eating small amounts of fish over the last 20 years.
  2. I went to culinary school at the French Culinary Institute and the ICE Culinary School. They keep renaming themselves.  Go figure!  All to say, I am a really good cook, but, not so good at pastries.  I always buy the dessert for my get-together’s.  No need to sweat that!
  3. I started working on a computer in high school. Back then, it was RadioShack, Commodore and Apple II. Now, you see where I get this.  That was a looong time ago!
  4. There is more about that: my dad is a Mathematician and my mom an Entrepreneur.
  5. I sailed 1,000 nautical miles in the Pacific, from Tahiti to Fiji. One of the most interesting things I have done.  I am not even a good swimmer – go figure!
  6. I never learned to bike! I tried to learn in Central Park and made an executive decision that it wasn’t going to happen in this lifetime.
  7. The longest I did the master cleanse was 21 days!
  8. I crossed the Arctic Circle when traveling from Sweden to Finland. I actually got a certificate for that!
  9. I spent a day and half on the Amazon to swim with pink dolphins. By now, you get that I love to travel.
